I can be the things that use to make you laugh
I can be all the times from the past where a smile graced your beautiful face
I can be that man
Your present day renaissance man, that is me
The one to be protective of your now, no matter the hurt from the past
I can be anything you want me to be, as long as I am with you

In A Crowded Room

The tone is set, the night has fallen
Suits and dresses draped those that mingled amongst each other
Everyone is enjoying the mood of the evening
Music playing, laughter and chatter fill the atmosphere
People of all walks crowd the room
I enter and walk through looking like a dear in headlights
Looking for someone to latch onto, to look like I belong
Sparking a conversation that wouldn't interest anyone within ten feet
But I go on because I want to seem busy and not look out of place
After minutes and hours of worthless conversation, I feel the heat
You know that warmth you feel when you spot someone or they spot you
I feel someone in my area, it is not a funny feeling
It is actually an amazing feeling
I turn left and nobody was there
The same is true when I turn to the right
But as I about face there she was

One Day......Love

Only hours, days, and years have passed
Determined that time will not be the only thing that defines when it will come
For only it builds my stamina to handle when it does
Preparation is what will bring true love
Preparing for your mate will determine its longevity
It will not be healthy for it to come and you not be ready for its fullness
Damaging the hearts of the precious
This will be your unconscious reaction to your ill-prepared approach to love
Suffering in pain and brokenness
These are the true test that will prepare you for what is to come

Divert Your Energy

Energy defined is the capacity of a physical system to perform work
There is no greater physical system than that of the human body
Carefully crafted and constructed at every angle
Each individual part serving a particular purpose
Our physical system was divinely created to perform
Performance levels may differ from person to person but the capacity is there
Levels differentiate because we are given a choice where to divert our energy
