Potential Meets Pinnacle

By Theodore R. Goyins, III

At what point does your potential turn into production?
Those on track to make life successful and accomplish great feats have always heard the classic line.
The line always reads as such, "You are someone with great potential".
That says to me that you could be but you're not.
What does that mean?
Why do I constantly have to be told I have great potential?
Great potential to be a noted businessman, potential to be a great husband, and potential to be just great.
A part of me wants to say save it but another part ask the question, why?
Why am I seen as someone with potential and not an executor of that potential. Furthermore, what have I not done to ensure that my potential has been fully exercised.
Well if you can tell by my words, I AM FED UP!

  1. JUST WANTED TO SAY YOU DID THIS BRO!!! THIS IS GREAT AND IT SPEAKS VOLUMES TO SO MANY LIFES... EVERYONE IS BORN WITH A GIFT AND EVERYONE S BORN WITH POTENTIAL.. HOWEVER EVERYONE IS NOT SUCCESSFUL.... EVERYONE DOES NOT TAP INTO THEIR POTENTIAL AND USE IT, EXERCISE IT AND ALLOW IT TO GROW. I LOVED THIS QUOTE, "I no longer am able to use my potential as a crutch for mediocrity. "

SO MANY PEOPLE KNOW WHAT THEY ARE CAPABLE OF.. AND BANK ON HAVING IT FOREVER AS AN EXCUSE TO PROLONG/POSTPONE THEIR CALLING BECAUSE "THEY'RE NOT READY"

GOOD NOTE BRO. IM PROUD OF U.. AND YEA IF UW RITE THAT BOOK U HAVE MY SUPPORT!

  2. "Live without Limits and leave here empty". That sounds like a mantra for our lives.

  4. You've done it yet again, sir. This piece definitely speaks to me. I used to hear that all the time... "you have great potential to do great things"... still do. I really have to step out on that potential, make some moves and achieve these goals. Thanks for the thought-provoking word. Might have to print this one out and hang it on the wall so I don't forget it =]
