Protect Me

By Theodore R. Goyins III

Excerpt from My Book

Excited that you want to fill me with joy
Pumping life into that which is breathing
Pain and aches cause me to turn the color of tar
Hardening to the point where walls are formed all around me
I am the symbol of your love, treat me as such
Hold me in your hands, but be gentle
Tender to the touch, is my inner core
To touch ones soul, I am the open door
The portal where love has access and few may be granted
Protect Me
