When Men Cry

By Theodore R. Goyins, III

Excerpt From My Book

It hurt me but I couldn't cry
Storing every tear away in my emotional storage closet
In this closet I experience emotional safety
Not releasing any of its' content because I believed it to be emasculating
Sadness draping the hanger of its' security
It was safe tucked away in the back
No matter the fact that the length of time had created moths to eat away at the very fabric of my being
It hurt me but I didn't cry
Hoarding each tear and placing at the back of my emotional closet
